I have neglected the blog lately, been busy with work and family. However, I've been think about whats going on with our country, and our society. One of the main problems I see is that many in the media (whom in the past have said we did this ) want to put everyone who believes a certain way into a box of their making. For example you disagree with Obama and your a racist. You don't like Sotomayor you don't like women or Hispanics (ah, Hispanic I love how they adopted Richard Nixon's made up word don't you). Frankly I'm quite sick of the bulls___ (fill in the blank as you prefer). Everyone who disagrees with Pres Obama is not a racist, all though some maybe racist (I believe Michelle Obama and the Right Stupid Rev. Wright are racist), but that is probably true of people who didn't like any other candidate of any other color or ethnicity that has ever ran for any office anywhere. So to say some who doesn't like President Obama because he is black is similar to saying some people who eat at McDonald's don't like corn, its a statement with little meaning and only one purpose to drive a wedge between people.
At any rate, I would like anyone who reads this to give me their thoughts on the "political correctness" that seems to be causing us (Americans) to do some really stupid things that are costing the lives of our citizens.
Thanks
I have till this point allowed people to post comments without my approval. Unfortunately not all VOX users are mature adults and insist on leaving comments questioning the character and sexual preferences of others (interesting how the liberals want tolerance), or whether they our a racist. From this point forward I will approve all comments before allowing them to be view by others. I will allow those who disagree with me, who do so in a factual and somewhat mature manner, if they wish to insult people please go to Madonna's Vox site and have at it on her comment section, which interestingly enough has to have her approval to be posted. I have a feeling she is a sexually frustrated liberal who just trolls around on VOX to throw down her Barney Frank comments and run off. Everyone have a nice day.
The ongoing saga of ACORN as they appear day after day on video telling people how to skirt the law and lie to get Housing Loans. It is incredible, but the most incredible part was the reaction of ACORN bosses after the release of the first video. They immediately attacked the people that made the video, which brings me to my point of the failure to listen.
The young man that shot the video and pretended to be the pimp told them that their standard attack method would not work. He specifically told them he had read Mr. Alinsky's Rules for Radicals and was prepared to use their own hero against them. What should have they learned from that? At least 2 things I can think of right off the top of my head: number 1. There is more video to come, he knew full well they would try to say it was an "isolated incident", so he knew he would need more then one or two locations doing this to show a pattern. 2. He knew in advance what they would do, so they should break pattern by aggressively responding to the internal problem but instead they reacted as predicted and lashed out at the reporter.
The Rules in Rules for Radicals are a bit dishonest, but they can be used by either side, something President Obama and his Pink Shirts (seen them they ain't that scary) should keep in mind.
Back to the title, you need to say "the masses" very slowly to get the proper effect.
Well, I attended (or should I say tried to attend) the town hall meeting given by our congressman. I was locked out, some said (and I cannot confirm this ) that at 3:30 2 buses loaded with people pulled up and they got in line (the meeting was scheduled for 6 PM. If that is true it effectively kept the working people from getting inside, however, I will repeat I could not confirm this information.
At any rate there were many people outside of the building, some from our side and some from the other side and I engaged a few people in conversation. My conclusion from all this is forget the other side there is not a damn thing you can or will ever do to change their minds, they are convinced that they are right no matter what anyone says. Here is a perfect example over and over they told me "We have terrible health care in the United States", so I would ask "So you our saying our doctors and nurses are doing a terrible job"..... they would say "I didn't say that". Well I would like to know who they are talking about because as far as I know they are the ones providing the care. If anyone reading this can help me to understand how we are getting bad care but the providers are doing an excellent job please enlighten me, I don't get it.
One of the people I talked to (from the other side) complained that because of the Patriot Act she couldn't go to Canada because she had been arrested by the police at an antiwar demonstration, as far as I know that would not be a felony and would not effect you legal status no more then a speeding ticket might (so this is a lie she used to excuse what I wasn't to sure). Not to say I didn't hear any stories coming from our side because I heard them stretching and exaggerating the truth as well. The worst of the day was a guy who I was discussing it with trotted out the race card on me and anyone that knows me can imagine things didn't go well from that point. I left at that point so I can still go to Canada (if you get my drift).
What did I learn from this, a couple things I will now share (as if anyone really cares) 1. Never lose your temper when your son is holding a video camera (although he did need to know that somethings should never be allowed to just pass by, or the 12th General Order for Marines (there are only 11 I know) Walk my post from flank to flank and take no s*** from any rank. 2. The people we must convince are the people in the middle, those who are not liberal, but are not necessarily conservatives. However, I don't think we do this by weakening our values but by showing them why our values lead to better outcomes.
This battle is the last stand against the statist mentallity we must take back the congress (conservatives I mean) in 2010 and they must do everything they can to roll back this craziness not just stop it from becoming worse like we have done for so many years.
There are two events that happened in the last week that I think public reaction has been appalling. First, the Scots released the convicted Lockerbie bomber who killed 270 people. Then to make matters worse he received a hero's welcome when he arrived back in Libya (who could expect any less from pigs), much to the dismay of politicians in both the US and England. William Wallace must have turned over in his grave at the appalling lack of courage from the leader of his beloved Scotland.
But the media in the US was not to be outdone when serial philander, alcoholic, accident scene leaving causing the death of a young woman, Senator Kennedy died the airwaves filled with those singing his praises. Now some will say this is harsh that he did accomplish many things in his life this is true, but not all of them are things to be proud of and many of his "accomplishments" have hurt people as well. He voted for CAFE Standards - result between 40 and 80 thousand additional traffic deaths they have been implemented. My real reason to be upset with this is he never "paid for his crime" unless you think, leaving the scene of a fatal accident and not reporting it for 10 hours should result in only a 6 month license suspension.
For those who don't know about Mary Jo Kopechne you should take a look. We could and some did blame her partly for her plight after all her and her five friends where partying with 6 men 5 of whom were married, and they knew they were married. However, immoral behavior should not result in the death peanlty. Some will also say Kennedy was young and made some mistakes, beg your pardon by the time you are 37 you should have some idea of the proper behavior for a man. They say as many as 40 percent of the population are unaware that Senator Kennedy killed a young woman and was not really punnished for it at all. As a matter of fact I have told a few people and they where shocked that he had done such a thing and was not punished.
At any rate I don't blame them for not trotting this out while his family is mourning his passing, after all they are not and can not be responsible for the sins of their father or uncle. We know that many people even though their parents or grandparents have done some not so good stuff that they contributed much to and sacraficed much for our country. Take for example "Butch" O'Hare who won the Congressional Medal of Honor (citation can be found here http://www.cmohs.org/recipient-detail/2923/o-hare-edward-henry.php ). His father was the lawyer for Al Capone and for many years helped him escape punishment (info here http://www.newcriminologist.com/article.asp?nid=661 ). So lets hope that one of Ted's children or grandchildren might do somthing that will amelorate the evil he did to Mary Jo and her family forty years ago this past July 17th.
So when they are singing the praises of the Senator keep in mind he was a deeply flawed, and that he went virtually unpunished for what was either murder, negligent homicide or manslaughter.
Well, the political left in this country can't stop themselves from putting everyone in some group or another. The groups of preference seem to be either monetary or racial. Worst of all people at NPR (this would be Welfare recipients (see I can do it to)), seem to want to do this with tax payers money. Why must they always analyze by group, can't these people just see Americans with differing opinions and address their concerns. No one I know hates President Obama because he is "black" or "African American", many don't hate him at all (like myself) but disagree with what he is trying to do to this country.
The Left Media's real problem is they can't understand why Americans (interesting name to call them don't you think) with lower to moderate income don't want to take money from their more well to do neighbors. Just a hint to the folks at NPR, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN and all you other fools out there, its probably for the same reason they don't break into the homes of their wealthier neighbors and steal their flat screen tv, its immoral and its wrong. Rich by itself means nothing if someone acquired their wealth through moral means and hard work most "Americans" (there's that word again) think thats great even those "Americans" who don't make as much.
In an NPR interview a libtard also said this:
Mr. KAI WRIGHT (Senior Writer, The Root): We’re seeing the manifestations of an anxiety amongst poor and working class white folks about what is my place in a vastly changing culture and a vastly changing economy. Those are real and meaningful anxieties, and we’re seeing a group of folks trying to exploit those anxieties.
So if you think I am just imagining things only libtards can think for themselves, people like Ms. Sheehan weren't manipulated by the left, but regular "Americans" when they get involved an offer their opinions they are being manipulated. I guess we should break windows and destroy property like the left, maybe then they would consider our opinions as legitimate.
On Second thought I do hate you libtards for your condescending attitudes and your kool-aid drinking unthinking follow the herd opinions.
Feeling much like a fighter staggering back to his feet the Detroit Metro area celebrated the Car over the weekend in the 2009 version of the "Woodward Dream Cruise". People around here are very familiar with this event it celebrates 2 things that are uniquely American the hot rod and cruising. It is the largest event in the state and has been going on for a little over 10 years. I spent a short hour or two there this time around but it was uplifting, some of these cars are really works of art. But what sticks with me this time around is the ability of "car people" to push on and still have a good time. If you like old cars there are always lots to look at there were around 40,000 of them cruising or sitting alond Woodward Ave. (or M1 the first concrete highway in the world). The route goes from Detroit to Pontiac about 15 miles, and goes through 7 cities. Around a million or more people line the route to look at the old cars. Now, for those politicians who think that all things they don't like are "astro turf", this event wasn't started by the Car Companies, it wasn't started by the car dealers, it wasn't started by the suppliers. It was started by Car lovers in Ferndale, Michigan and it was to be just a small event to raise money for a soccer field for their children, that it eventually drew in the Car companies, suppliers and dealers is not suprising as they would naturally be interested in the advertising possiblities, but this event benefits local charities and pumps about 50 million into the local economy over the weekends events, and the carbon footprint it puts out would piss off Al Gore which makes me extremely happy.
ATTN: Nancy Pelosi, real Americans do more good by accident then you do on purpose.

David Letterman's recent comments about Sarah Palin's 14 year old daughter are as bad if not worse then Don Imus's comment about the Rutgers Womens basketball team and he should receive the same fate. Yet, I have heard nothing about it from the Major Networks. They were on Don Imus like stink on crap, yet, nothing about Letterman. Last nite instead of apologizing like Imus did he excused his behavior. So David since its ok to talk about little children I have a question for you. Hows your little bastard doing today, is he growing, does he know what a piece of crap his father is? Not very nice is it. To be quite honest Letterman I never did think you where that funny.
Please send letters to you local CBS affiliate to at least voice your complaints against this kind of vicious attack on children.
We have seen 2 murders in the last few days, one covered throughly by the media (although biased) the other virtually ignored. The left wingers are up in arms over the murder of abortionist Dr. George Tiller at his church this last Sunday. First let me say that no one of any moral character condones the murder of anyone, having said this, the media cannot see how the choices of Dr. Tiller may have contributed to his murder. This is not to excuse the killer at all but Dr. Tiller had performed they estimate some 60,000 abortions. The media zealots are all over Bill O'Reilly because he reported on them. So, I guess if someone kills a right to life protester in the next few days we can blame them I suppose.
Now for the murder they covered up, and it appears that possibly they where following the wishes of the White House, and failed to report the murder of an Army Private helping at the recruiting office on a temporary basis by a whacked out Muslim. Why don't they cover it, he never committed the murder of 60,000 potential humans? What do we say to the private sorry dude you are not as important as this abortion doctor? Our we afraid to offend the Muslims?
On my job we had to go to diversity training (we have had one class in 2 years since it was implemented) which was given by 2 Muslim ladies. Let me say they seemed like nice people (I really didn't expect anything less), and they talked about their culture and beliefs and thats all well and good, but then they talked about "dirty looks" they received after September 11th, and that is not a good thing as I am certain they had nothing to do with it. But me and my boss talked about it later (he is a Muslim), and I said that the women where a little over sensitive about this, and he said I only said that because I had never had that happen (which is bull capital S with a hit, I was in the Marine Corps and often got those looks, in this country and others) . Anyway I told him in the big scheme of things I would rather have a million dirty looks then have to make the decision to either burn to death or jump out of a 100 plus story building. He seemed to understand that rather clearly.
Sorry got side tracked for a minute, but why doesn't the media report on a person serving their country who was gunned down by a terrorist not in Baghdad but Little Rock.
I have given this quite a bit of thought lately, and have come to one conclusion that in my mind explains the difference. If you listen to what the Dems say its always and attack on a person rarely if ever do they attack a specific idea. Listen to the President he doesn't attack Republican (conservative) ideas he attacks George Bush. Jeanine Gar(whatever her name is) doesn't attack the idea of to much taxation, she attacks the people at the "tea parties" as rascist. Even the books the left write are attacks on people and not ideas, look at the all the Bush attack books, you can pick them up and read if you want (don't buy them, why encourage the people from the short bus), but again they attack people and not ideas.
Contrast this to the way consevatives present themselves its all about the ideas, at least for most. I know Ann Coulter and others attack individuals from time to time, but even when she does she is trying to show a contrast with the way people treat one side as compared to the other. Look at the books that are popular amongst conservatives they are about ideas and not attacks on people. Liberty and Tyranny comes to mind, I don't know if Dr. Levin has considered this at all but the reason why most liberal books are failures and his is so successful is because it is not an attack on people but the expression ideas and the defense of ideals.
I don't know how many agree with this view. I would appreciate all comments.
Nice try Jesus (not likely anything like him), I.m smarter then a liberal I actually look at the facts. Since... read more
